The Scam Unfolded:
A Personal Story
In early June 2024, an innocent email led to a devastating scam by Sydney FX (SFX), a fraudulent crypto platform. Here’s how they do it:
-
They lure you in with promises of guaranteed profits through a "Managed Account" scheme.
-
Fake "account managers" like Kevin Lambert and Jonathan Moore will coax you with unrealistic returns.
-
They force you to transfer money through shady third-party platforms like Greenkeeper Ltd.
-
They pretend to close accounts, then vanish without a trace, taking your money with them.
It claimed that a well-known radio presenter had made millions through crypto trading. Skeptical but intrigued, I knew this was a classic scam tactic using celebrities. Yet, curiosity got the better of me. I filled out a simple form, thinking nothing would come of it. I was wrong.
Within hours, I received a call from Kevin Lambert, a supposed representative of SydneyFX.io (SFX), a crypto trading platform. He came across as knowledgeable and professional, using technical jargon to establish trust. He spoke about the future of cryptocurrency, something I had always been fascinated by. Over the course of the next two weeks, we spoke multiple times, and I felt increasingly convinced that this could be a legitimate opportunity.
But I was hesitant. I knew the risks of investing in cryptocurrency, with its high volatility. I didn’t want to lose everything. Kevin reassured me time and again. He introduced me to their "exclusive" Managed Account service—designed specifically for cautious investors like me.
